This important position is Stupp Fiber's face to the customer. As a Sales Representative, you will engage potential subscribers and demonstrate the benefits of our fiber network over more traditional internet services and ensure ongoing loyalty to Stupp Fiber. If you're a self-starter who loves working in a collaborative environment and helping others, you will have plenty of room to grow with our organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Contacts new and existing customers to discuss their needs and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.
- Answers customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
- Quotes prices, credit terms, and other bid specifications.
- Emphasizes product features based on analyses of customers' needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
- Negotiates prices and terms of sales and service agreements.
- Maintains customer records using automated systems.
- Identifies prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
- Helps plan and host events to attract potential customers.
- Prepares sales contracts for orders obtained and submits orders for processing.
- Selects the correct products or assists customers in making product selections based on customers' needs, and product specifications.
- Collaborates with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing information.
- Conducts customer visits to ensure that equipment is functioning properly
- Attends trade shows to research and stays current with new products and technologies.
- Attends conferences and conventions to meet other sales representatives and clients and discuss new product developments.
- Participates in company-sponsored meetings to review sales performance, product development, sales goals, and profitability.
- Analyzes sales statistics; prepares reports; and completes other administrative duties such as filing expense accounts, scheduling appointments, and making travel plans.
- Researches and maintains current knowledge regarding new and existing products and monitors the sales, prices, and products of their competitors.
- Maintain a personal cell phone plan with adequate data capabilities and willingness to download company required aps.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical or scientific knowledge in engineering and the telecommunication industry preferred.
- Valid state-issued driver's license and meet the company standard regarding driving a company vehicle.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time and work extended hours, nights, and weekends.
- Strong telephone and interpersonal contact skills required.
- Willingness to have telephone conversations monitored for quality performance.
- Must be able to follow directions and work as a team.
- Must have knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Must have knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Must be able to:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Technical knowledge in area(s) of telecommunication engineering, operations, and sales. At least two years of experience directly in the telecommunication industry preferred.
- College degree with specialization in technology preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Mathematical and statistical skills needed for evaluation of data, computation and calculations.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Complex Problem Solving-Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Deductive Reasoning-The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Problem Sensitivity-The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does involve taking ownership and solving the problem.
- Inductive Reasoning-The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Microsoft Office skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The ability to see details at close range and use a computer.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and printer.
- Frequently communicates and must be able to participate in the exchange.
- The ability to visit customers and give presentations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Mostly office environment with occasional job site visits with customers
